Pico Arieiro at 1810m, is the highest point of the island of Madeira.
Cabo Girao has the highest cliffs in Europe
Camara de Lobos is a lovely little fishing village, which was about 30 minutes’ walk from the hotel.
Santana Sao Roque do Faial is an impressive volcanic cliff.
Porto Moniz Here, on the extreme north western point of the island, a huge sea water pool has been created by building a breakwater around it. Some of our group swam there.

10th. Thursday: Amblers’ Walk. Aghada & Rostellan. 12 p.m. Meet at Rosie’s. There will be lunch after the walk at Rosie’s. Please respond to text message to book.
11th. Friday: Set Dancing. (As above).
17th. Thursday: Health Insurance talk, by Dermot Goode. Oriel House Hotel, Ballincollig at 2 p.m.
18th. Friday: Set Dancing. (As above).

- 12.30 p.m. AGM at Oriel House, followed by
- 1.45 p.m. Lunch at Oriel House. €20. (BOOKING ESSENTIAL FOR LUNCH. Please reply to text when you receive it, if you wish to have lunch. ).
24th. Thursday: Camera Group meeting. SMA Centre, Wilton. 2.30 p.m.

25th. Friday: Final Set Dancing Class.
26th. Saturday: Ballet evening. The Nutcracker by Ballet Ireland at Everyman Theatre, price €23. Pre-theatre dinner at Gourmet Burger Bistro 5.45p.m. €20, plus gratuity.

The Amblers enjoyed a lovely day out on 13th October. They walked in and around Glengarriff and were blessed with fine weather.
