Since the 1830s there has been a celebration of the coming of summer on May 1st at Glenbower Woods. Anne Durity led a very happy RTAI amble there recently. Having suffered
from horrid weather, we attempted to bring on an early summer and if the sunshine we got is a
sample of what’s to come, stock up on factor 50! Food and service at The Old Thatch, Killeagh,
were an answer to everyone’s requirements with but one reservation- the thatch at the rear of
the building looks well past its best! Where now is Maggie the Thatcher when we need her?!!
