24 of us came to the Rose Hotel Tralee for a recent 3 night break. The hotel is superb from all points of view, hence this repeat visit. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast and a great location fulfilled the brief. A day in Dingle after a walk on Inch beach, more food and an unforgettable visit to Ionad na mBlascaod. If only we had double the time there but the return journey to Tralee beckoned.
Next day saw us in a wet blustery Kenmare where rain gear came in handy on the Bay cruise. But what a view of the shoreline ,islands, seals, castles passed us by with a great commentary from the crew. Back on dry land and further out and up Cappanacush we visited the Water Margin garden, the site of which makes full use of two waterfalls/streams ,then in full spate. Plants from near and far thrive in the Kenmare micro climate and we could have stayed gazing at the ever changing view down on the bay.
But you guessed it, another dinner awaited us back in Tralee with more chatting and catch up time to follow. Some of us did our best for the local economy the following day before reluctantly returning to Cork. But there’s always a next time. Le cúnamh Dé.
