In the deep mid-winter, Anne Durity took a very select group on the last RTAI amble of the year. No doubt she was heartened by the arrival of The three wise men travelling from the east!!! The harmless early drizzle did not discourage the walkers. With the women setting an early brisk pace that necessitated the men almost trotting behind. The huge expanse of Ballincollig Regional Park is truly a wonderland, free to all who use its trails and open spaces.
On the designated “Otters Walk” said otters failed to show. Napoleon demanded that his generals be lucky, so unfairly perhaps this cost Anne a reduction in leadership grade from A plus to a mere A!
Choosing the “Trade House Central” in Ballincollig for lunch was an inspired choice. The Christmas season atmosphere gave us all a lift. Typical of Anne Durity’s giving nature was a surprise raffle for all who attended. Even if we could not all be winners, another generous member brought Leonidas chocs for sharing.
