Irish Traditional Music studies for the life-long learner

My name is Conor Arkins, I am a course director at Cork College of FET, Tramore Road Campus, based in the heart of Cork City.

We offer a dynamic one-year level five programme in Irish traditional music studies tailored for the life-long learner. Since the course’s inception two years ago, we have catered predominantly for the active retiree’s with an interest in Irish traditional music.

We operate a holistic and experiential approach to education that is centered around a love for performance practice and attending concerts. This year we travelled to an Irish music festival in Sitges, Spain were we performed and attended concerts and sessions in the region.

Applicants do not need to have a professional level of performance experience, but simply to be able to play an instrument at a basic level and have an interest in learning more about Irish music.

Please help us spread the word about this course with your members as we are eagerly looking for applicants for this coming September. Feel free to pass my contact/email to any of your members.
