About St. Anne’s Day Nursery and Day Care

St. Anne’s Day Nursery CLG is a community Nursery located in the inner city of Cork. The Nursery is opened for 48 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 5:30pm. The Nursery is closed all public holidays and Good Friday.

The Nursery provides full day care, ECCE sessional care and Afterschool care for the neighbouring school of St. Marie’s of the Isle N.S.

The full day care service operates from Monday to Friday, 48 weeks of the year. Full day care is 5+ hours per day.

The ECCE sessional care operates Monday to Friday, 38 weeks of the year. ECCE hours are 3 hours per day which are free of cost to parents. Parents can avail of additional hours if required at a cost. The ECCE service is operated in partnership with the Neighbouring school
St. Marie’s of the Isle N. S, as many of the children will continue the next phase of their education with the school.

The Afterschool care service is provided for the neighbouring school St. Marie’s of the Isle N.S only. Afterschool operates during the school calendar, Monday to Friday for 38 weeks.
Afterschool care has two session groups: part- time and sessional. The Afterschool key staff members collect the children at 1:20pm and 2:20pm from their classrooms and bring them directly to their Afterschool rooms.

Parents whose children are in ECCE sessional care and Afterschool care can avail of extra hours outside the school calendar such as Midterms, Easter and Summer.

The Nursery employs a part-time cook who prepares early morning snack and a hot 2-course lunch for full day care children, children of ECCE availing of additional hours and for afterschool children.

The Nursery implements and provides early years education and care outlined in the national frameworks Síolta, Aistear and Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016. For each group, based on age, the key workers create and develop a curriculum that stimulates and fosters opportunities for the development of every individual child so that they can meet their developmental milestones and basic life skills.

The Nursery is established as a professional training facility for those who wish to further their educational and/ or employment opportunities in Early Years Childcare and Education.

We provide educational work placements for students completing their Early Years courses from level 5 to 8.
