The first Hill Walk of 2017 took place on February 16th.
Our meeting point was The Wild Goose, Dromahane, where we arranged our car pools, (after the regulation cuppa and scone!).
Our leaders were Máiréad Twomey and Nora Farrissey. Special thanks to them for all the preparation and for ensuring that the walk was paced to suit the needs of the group.
We were blessed with dry weather which afforded us clear views of the surrounding countryside; Kanturk, Lyre, Rylane, Nad and Banteer. After our snack stop atop the hill (309m) we descended along the forest road, passing picturesque woodland until we returned to our starting point, after a loop of 11km.
Thanks to Clare Shelley for the background organisation, which was much appreciated.
