The NEC has considered how our Association could contribute to the national battle against Coronavirus and in particular how we could help those in our community who are particularly vulnerable at this time. Many of our members who would normally be active in local community groups are restricted due to the cocooning advice from volunteering their service on this occasion. Accordingly, the NEC has decided to show our support by making a substantial financial donation on behalf of all our members. As there are so many wonderful charitable and voluntary organisations in this country it is very difficult to pick one over another. However, the NEC decided to make two donations of €20,000 each to Alone and St Vincent de Paul. Two donations of €5,000 each have also been made to the Irish Cancer Society and the Peter McVerry Trust.
