Line Dancing with Helen Conroy

While we may not be ready yet to audition for DWTS the ever patient, wonderful Helen Conroy has been putting us through our paces of sliding, stepping, toe tapping and generally trying to coordinate out of practice feet to the sounds of Nathan Carter, Riverdance et al.

We’re in a new home, the big and airy hall of Ovens GAA club, a couple of dance steps beyond Ballincollig, with acres of parking just outside. Little do the múinteoirí of Ovens school next door realise what their former colleagues are up to. But we relish the opportunity to take part in this very sociable activity and hopefully will continue for a few more sessions post Easter at which we’d love to see more of you.

Our male dancers have almost deserted us this time around. Maybe they’re acting as understudies in Dublin! But we want you back, with others if possible in the interests of equality. We’re so lucky to have Helen Conroy, she’s a tonic each Friday morning and has now produced a CD of our dance music and her own YouTube channel called Line Dance Helen with which to continue at home. There’ll be no stopping us now.
