On December 1st 2016, the Ramblers had a wonderful walk in Ardmore. The Ardmore Cliff walk is a very popular walk, and it was no surprise that there was a high turn-out of members for the final Ramble of 2016.
Since the RTAI Ambler/Rambler group decided at its January Think-in to re-name the Rambles as Hill Walks, the Ardmore Cliff Walk was actually the last Ramble!
After our climb up from the village of Ardmore, the group split into two; the more energetic opted to extend the walk to Goat Island, while the remainder of the group continued on the shorter route.
After the walk we had an excellent lunch at the Cliff House Hotel. We were very well catered for by the friendly staff, and the views and ambiance were second to none.
At the meal, flowers were presented to Velda as a token of appreciation for all the work she has done in establishing such active walking groups. So many of our members have had enjoyable experiences on these days out! In reply, Velda acknowledged the contributions of others in helping with the recces, organisation and leading of the various walks, and she wished everyone a Happy Christmas and a Healthy and Active New Year.
Here is a slide-show of the day’s views.
