A group of 35 hill walkers enjoyed a great hike on Thursday 10th March. We were very fortunate with the weather on the day, and the tide stayed out as well!
We set out shortly after 11, after our leader Pat Crowley gave us a brief history of Crosshaven. The terrain was mixed, with some steep climbs, some muddy stretches, plenty of shoreline and a few short periods on the roads.
We paused for a short break at Myrtleville, before following the shoreline to Fennel’s Bay and Church Bay. At Templebreedy we had a few more points of information from Pat, before following the cliff path past Weavers Point and down to Graball Bay.
From there we emerged at Camden Fort Meagher, before descending to the shore for our return to Crosshaven. We met the Amblers at Cronin’s Pub and enjoyed a tasty lunch in great company.
